Tasks, to-do lists, and texts can easily distract us from giving a person our full attention. Today, try being completely present with someone and notice what happens. Express sincere gratitude to a friend Do your friends and loved ones know how much you appreciate them? Take a photo of something beautiful, and text it to someone in your life Sometimes a simple text is all it takes to brighten the day of someone you love.

Detach from technology for one hour and look for opportunities to be helpful Put your phone on airplane mode, move away from your computer, and take a walk or grab a bite. Open your eyes to your surroundings and notice what happens. Perhaps you can open the door for someone whose hands are full, help carry groceries, or purchase a cup of coffee for someone who looks sad. But with compassion, a person may have the same feelings as that of the suffering person. A person having compassion will have the same feeling of happiness or sadness as that of others. Look at this example that would clearly make out the differences between kindness and compassion. A person having kindness when seeing a homeless person begging on the street for food or money would provide that person with money or food and then continue on.

On the other hand, a person with compassion will stop by the person, talk to him and understand his problems. He would ask what help he wants to have. Moreover, the person with compassion would arrange some shelter for this homeless person on the street. When comparing compassion to kindness, the former one has a deeper and more personal feeling.

A person having compassion will try to understand the feelings or emotions of others. But a person demonstrating kindness will only help other people but never has any feelings for others. Compassion, no doubt, is a stronger feeling than kindness.

It is the ability to feel for someone or to have the same feeling as that of someone else. Kindness is an act when trying to help others in need of help.
